Introduction
Contributions and fundraising activities provide the funding towards worldwide medical science, as the scientists continue to work tirelessly to find the answers to the Batten Disease mystery. To-date, the Chapter seeks public support to continue its informational support service and with an ultimate aim of furthering research work in Australia. In the near future, it is hoped to have raised enough funding to bring more scientific expertise to Australia, as "The Cure Depends on Us". We thank the community for their support and with special recognition to the following organizations
cDonalds
With thanks to the McDonalds Restaurants in every state of Australia, we can make this disease more aware to the public. On the 31st of March each year you can see our Awareness poster on the community board of each restaurant.
Communities can further support this Day by offering to display these posters in their businesses. It is the awareness that brings knowledge to the public and assists with early diagnoses.

Australian Schools create awareness
This year in connection with the National Batten Disease Awareness Day, Schools Australia-wide have participated in creating awareness via their newsletters and making Baby Battens bears and fun maze pens available to their students to purchase as a keepsake of this Day.
