Become a Member and join the Batten Disease cause
The BDSRA Australian Chapter enables people like you and I to register their support, by becoming an annual member and receive a quarterly Newsletter, contact with other members/Associates and many other benefits. There is a strong group of dedicated people (individuals from affected families, extended family and friends, therapists/Teachers, Doctors, Researchers and Associates), who in some way are involved with the fight against Batten Disease. Please support the efforts of many dedicated individuals and help the network to grow, by registering your support and becoming a 2011/2012 Member of the Batten Disease Support and Research Association, Australian Chapter. Please download and complete the attached form (click here).
For all payments (membership, donations) receipt and confirmation of membership will be sent to your postal address
Could you be an Aussie Chapter Volunteer?
A number of special people volunteer their time to enable the running of the Australian Chapter. Also, the many fundraising activities and events have been so successful in bringing people together with the mission to raise awareness of Batten Disease. For example, the BDSRA Australian Chapter Biannual Conference has been an invaluable experience for face to face contact between many of the above dedicated people in a relaxed and social environment, with affected children and siblings also being well catered for. As you can imagine, the organization of such events are time consuming and carried out by volunteers. There are also many smaller activities/jobs associated with the running of the association, which require ongoing support. If in any way, you would be interested in helping out as a volunteer (long or short term) to the Association, please fill out the attached form (click here) and indicate how you would like to be involved with the Association.
The greater the support that the association receives (via membership, volunteers, fundraising etc), enables it to ‘reach further’ in the aim of helping affected families and children, by for example:
- Ongoing information and referral programs, social interaction at meetings/fundraising events;
- Scientific Research Support by donating funding towards specifically Batten Disease related Research projects;
- Newsletter and Email information via the growing network of supporters.
